Well after a rough start to 2012, I have a new and fresh attitude this week, and it’s just in time for 100th day! 100th day is another reason to celebrate in first grade land – and it’s another reason for me to wear a costume to work 🙂 Although, I’ll be missing my teamie. We were never shy when it came to dressing up for the sake of our firsties, but I’ll be flying solo this 100th day dressing up like a 100 year old! (obviously) I need to get busy planning a costume . . .Here’s what my wall display looked like last year…
We are 100 days smarter 🙂 |
One of my favorite 100th Day projects! |
So anyway – 100th day fun and Valentine’s Day are coming up in Room 106. Lots of pictures of projects, costumes and activities to come later in the week. (Now that this rocky patch has subsided, I promise I’ll be a more faithful blogger!)
Did I mention we tweet? This year, I created a Twitter account for my class and we tweet throughout the day about what we are up to! The parents love it! It’s pretty awesome to tell the parents what we are doing WHILE we are doing it! My kids love it as much as I do. We’ll be in the middle of something, and one of my kids will casually say “You know, we should tweet this!” And more often than not, we do! Gotta love technology! (And even more so, I love that my kids are already using technological verbs accurately. haha)
In other news, for those of you that don’t know, I’m about the furthest thing from a “cook” that you ever did meet. So my new year’s resolution is to learn how to cook. I’ve had a few successes so far, but this past Sunday may have been my favorite meal yet! I’m slowing but surely learning that it’s okay to love my crockpot! I made a ranch pot roast in gravy. YUMMO! I was kind of proud of myself! Now I have to figure out what I’m going to try next! Any (easyyy) recipes you’d care to ship my way, I’d love to try them!! Hey . . .beautiful seester of mine . . . .your masterpieces in the kitchen always look beautiful. Do share, eh?!
Ok, now that I’ve posted about food, I’m going to find and cook some dinner then do some pinning before bedtime! 🙂 I am totally 100% in love with Pinterest by the way. The pinning never ends. Morning. Noon. Night. It all works. If you don’t pin, (cough…jenna) you need to start:)
Happy Tuesday friends 🙂 🙂
