Holy cow, it’s been way too long since I’ve blogged. I swear I have a great excuse! For starters, I spent a week in the Outerbanks, NC, which is where Ryan and met nearly 8 years ago in 2004 – as if you don’t already know. So we enjoyed our time with his family, soaked up the sun, and celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary.
I’ll skip past the part about our HORRENDOUS trip down to say that we had perfect weather and WARM water which made it quite a lovely vacation. I can hardly wait to go back… in about 3 weeks. 🙂
And I’m going to need that vacation because, due to recent, monumental events, mid-late August is going to be INSANE, and overwhelming, and EXHAUSTING, and INSANE. “Why?”, you ask? Oh, because WE BOUGHT A HOUSE!!! And we move in is DURING the first full week of school! If you have ANY idea what August/September is like for a teacher – or for a teacher who is as crazy about being thoroughly prepared for the energetic, new group of kiddos who are getting ready to walk through their classroom doors for the first time in the oh-so-too-soon future – you can understand, that moving in to our first house on TOP of back to school preparation is going to be a little bit less than fun. Allow me to explain – I go to bed at 8:00 the first 2 weeks of school. That’s just so I can regularly function through the exhaustion that is the first week of school. It takes SO much out of me! It’s fun and exciting to meet and accustom new kiddos to a new year, but man oh man it just drains me!! *yawn* <– just thinking about it!!
I’ve mentally/emotionally prepared myself for the craziness, and, more importantly (and fairly, perhaps), I’ve warned my husband, too. ANYWAY…Keeping in view the BIG and BEAUTIFUL picture that is the fact that we bought a beautiful home, I know it will get done. I know I will survive. I’m HOPING to look back on the mid/late part of August come December and be able to laugh at the craziness that it was. 🙂 My sweaty and anxious fingers are crossed on that one!
Moving past my anxiety – let me repeat . . . WE BOUGHT A HOUSE!! Although we want to wait to post pictures until it’s filled and decorated with OUR things, I thought it was okay to post a FEW pictures as a sneak peek that were published on the site through which we found our house 🙂 They’ll have to hold you over until we can take our own pictures in August!
Our home <3 Isn’t it cute?!? |
The BEAUTIFUL kitchen, for which this picture honestly does NO justice. I love the lights hanging down over the bar, too. |
One of my favorite parts <3 the window filled morning room! |
Living room . . . the kitchen opens right into this |
Our master bedroom – wait til you see our closets! |
Back of the house and part of our back yard 🙂 |
Ok, so there you have it. A sneak peek inside of our new house! 🙂 I’ve already started the “to-pack” lists – obviously. I swear I’m going to try and be as planned ahead as humanly possible for this venture that takes place simultaneously with “Oh, hi! I’m your new teacher!” events. We are both beyond excited, THRILLED about how everything ended up falling into place, and so happy to start writing this new chapter!!
Well, my to-do lists and I are going to make our way to the pool for a bit. I hope you all have a GREAT Wednesday. Enjoy the sunshine!! <3

I moved in with the BF in the midst of changing jobs so I know the stress that carries! You're so organized though I'm sure it'll be super smooth 🙂
