Holy COW – Where in the world did July go?!?! Even though (you and) I know that answer – is it REALLY August 2nd?? All things considered, August has a LOT of potential 🙂 Shall I break it down for you? I think I shall!
Starting with tomorrow – these dear, beautiful friends of ours are getting married! <3 Congrats Mike and Danielle! Can’t wait to celebrate with you both!
Then, Saturday night – I’ll be beach bound for the OBX – Richardella style <3 (Don’t worry – my school bag is also making the trip) However, I’m pretty pumped to spend an entire week with my mom and dad – which I realize that I haven’t done in, well, over a YEAR?!? Wow. That makes me sad – but at the same time makes me even MORE excited for Saturday:) I truly have the BEST parents in the world who host a hell of a vacation, and I can hardly wait to relax with 2 of the hardest working people I know who deserve a vacation more than ANYONE <3 Love you mom and dad!
August 9th brings my gorgeous, hilarious sister’s birthday <3 I miss her so much it hurts sometimes 🙁 love you j.rich <– soon to be j.rose <3 seriously. can’t take how beautiful that will be.
August 14th – DEXTER SEASON 6 ON BLURAY!!! After that, Ryan and I will be completely caught up on our new obsession and ready to watch the new, seventh season when it comes on in the fall!

August 16th – We close on our first house together <3 I am so excited, but nervous at the same time! I am terrible at decorating, so hopefully Mom and Jenna are up for the challenge of helping me!!
August 18th – Hunger Games on Bluray!! 🙂 May the odds – be EVER in your favor <3 Obviously.

And lastly, but very excitingly – August 20th – my first official day on the job as a 2nd grade teacher at Hinckley. I can remember 6 years ago at this time of the summer before my 1st day teaching at Altoona. I was nervous about it being something new. The unknown and I aren’t friends. But I can remember my mom telling me “Just think, Ash. This will be your last ‘first day of work’ ever!” Welp. We all know how that worked out. – I had another “first day of work” that brought some truly AMAZING people into my life<3 Hopefully – this next “first day” will be the same. 🙂

I changed up a whole bunch this year and already have the gears turning about additions for next year, too. I’m pretty happy with the way things turned out. I’m looking forward to a week in the OBX but I’m already excited to get back to start planning with my new 2nd grade team 🙂

So with that being said – I feel like August is just about over! I’m so excited to see how it all pans out, I really am. I KNOW it’s going to be intense, and stressful, and demanding – but I am going to try my best to just keep my eye on the BIG picture of it all and be thankful for how beautifully stars have aligned for us this summer. Ryan and I have been blessed with SO much this last year (plus some) of our life together, so I’m going to definitely find a way to smile through the stress of this next blur of a month and to be thankful for everything that we have. <3
