This won’t be too crazy long of a post nor will it be filled with pictures, but I wanted to log a quick entry before the weekend – during which Ryan and I will be rolling up our sleeves and starting the whole “move in to our 1st house” thing. I mean – it’s no biggie. It’s fine, really. To quote a question that a dear friend asked me yesterday . . . I am, in fact, “soooooooo excited (to say) that crazy time is finally here!!!” And by crazy time, I mean that in the next 65ish hours, I will get the keys to our first house AND officially start my 7th year teaching. Deep breath, Ashley. Fortunately, I’m pretty sure that the perfect mixture and combination of excitement, adrenaline, and Folgers have kept me smiling and, quite frankly, standing upright. I’ll smile to that 🙂
Something else that I’ll smile to . . . today, I put final touches on my room – and by final touches, I mean that I’m happy enough with the way things are for the immediate time being that I could put the scissors, the sharpies, the accents, the borders, and the step stool away FOR NOW until Open House is over on Monday. 🙂 Setting up my classroom is truly an ongoing process – I never really “finish” it. I’m always re-arranging, reorganizing, adding/changing things, and so on – You name it, I put my classroom through it… But that’s one of my favorite parts about teaching. I love finding new/better things to do with my kiddles. But for now, like I said, I’ve closed up shop, and it’s time to meet my 2nd graders! (Can’t figure out a cute name for them yet?! So I’ve been going with kiddles until I do…)
The picture above AND below have newly added accents with my kiddles’ names. Can’t wait to put their faces with those!
love my new name tags 🙂 All ready for Open House! |
Ok welp – it’s back to checking everything that I possibly can off of my list (including “blog”:) CHECK!) before we get the phone call that our new house is ready and waiting for us 🙂 Can’t wait to share lots of pictures with you all as soon as I have them! – Well, I’ll either share as soon as I have them, orrrrr (more likely) as soon as I have a free minute during the “crazy time” that’s practically knocking on my door! 🙂 Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!
