Well, here we are again, closing the door to yet another year. Some of you are undoubtedly shocked about how quickly the year has gone by – as am I – but I can’t even pretend to say that I’m sad to see it go.
I’m not one to complain. I’m really not, but in 2012, my family has lost loved ones and pets, said goodbyes way more often than any closely knit family should have to, and been pushed to our limits mentally and emotionally on what seemed to have been a constant basis. Additionally, with the heartbreak close to and far from home – from Penn State to Sandy Hook – I just think we’re all more than ready for the fresh start that a new year always promises to bring.
But before kissing twenty twelve goodbye, I have to reflect on a few of the blessings, memories, and highlights for which 2012 was responsible, too!
February – My beautiful best friend welcomed her handsome little boy into the world <3 It was never so hard to leave Altoona than it was on Rusty’s birthday! 🙂
The Yertys visited us in October in Ohio!! <3 |
March – My sister and Ryan #2 got engaged!! 🙂 I was completely surprised – as was she – when I got the phone call last March! Little did I know, my hubby was in on the secret proposal in Aruba, too! Sneaky sneaky our Ryans are! Can’t wait to stand next to my beautiful bride-to-be seester <3 and for allll of the wedding celebrations that are yet to come in 2013!!
June – We celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary complete with cake, steak, and our ridiculously awesome wedding video 🙂
I am married to an awesome man. I realize that more and more with every milestone that we cross together . . .
Speaking of milestones – here’s where things get crazy . . all stars aligning and such . . .
Late June / Early July began the whirlwind that hasn’t quite stopped . . . We decided to start shopping for a house, made an offer on a house, closed on a house, AND I interviewed for (x3) and landed my new job at Highland (6 miles from our house?!) within a month’s time. I will say – having a home of our own has helped take the sting off of the homesickness a tiny bit. It’s pretty darn cool to call something so beautiful our own. Crazy how I got all grown up all of a sudden!!

The latter part of 2012 brought even more beautiful new babies into my newsfeed (1st blog shout-out to Harper and Jackson!!) as well as the news that more babies are on their way for several of our dearest friends! It’s been so exciting to celebrate with all of them!
So with that – I look forward to 2013. I’m not much of a resolution setter or keeper, for that matter. However, after a year and a half packed full of constant change, I’d like to make a few more changes for the better in 2013. I won’t bore you with a bulleted list of what it is that I’ll be working on – chances are that I’ll be blogging about each in one way or another before too long, anyway. But I’m looking forward to the new year with a smile, a positive attitude, and the faith that 2013 won’t let us down <3
this about sums up my plans for 2013 – and beyond <3 |
