. . . .and what a perfect week to be coined “Teacher Week” than the first official week back to school! I start with teacher work days on Thursday and my kiddos are coming on Monday! I’m JUST about finished up with lesson plans through next week, and I’m all ready to meet a new set of parents on Thursday night at Open House! Ahhh! It’s hard to believe that this will be my 8th year teaching, but what I thought about this weekend, which is even more difficult to believe, is that this will be the THIRD school year as a teacher in Ohio!? Man on man, life just flies by.
Anyway – I’m joining in the Teacher Week fun and linking up with some fabulously fun and talented teachers/bloggers! So here are 10 facts that you may or may not already know about me! 🙂
1. I taught first grade for 5 years, was a literacy coach for 1 year, and taught 2nd grade for the first time last year. As much as I ADORED the land of the firsties . . .2nd grade comes in a close 2nd. I totally love 2nd grade!
2. I, obviously, love teaching, but among my other favorite things to do is spending time with my family and friends. I have the best family and friends a girl could ask for!! After living in the same town for 27 years before moving to Ohio in 2011, it’s tough being away from my hometown loves, but visiting them makes me smile, and it makes me enjoy and appreciate the time that I get to spend with them that much

3. I am passionate about a LOT of things. When I say passionate, I mean passionate. Sometimes, my passions may or may not turn into obsessions….but it’s fine…. With that being said – I heart Penn State football in a crazzzzy passionate way. I’m talking – I hate to watch the games anywhere other than in my living room, in the stadium (HaPpY VaLLeY) orrr in the living room of equally passionate Penn State football fans. I’m SO looking forward to football season! – – if only football season’s beginning didn’t mean flipflop season’s ending. grr.
I heart Penn State . . . he, well, doesn’t. |
4. If I were sent to a deserted island, and I could only bring 3 things with me – I’d bring my iphone (and charger), my Keurig (and K-cups), and pizza…. (and a planner, and post-its, and blue pens…) Those are, hands down, my favorite things in the world. 🙂
5. I have been married for 2 years?!? and met my hubby 9 years ago! We bought our first house last summer, we have 1 cat named Beanie, and we’re loving our little life together 🙂

6. I’m not much of a TV girl . . . but these past few years, I’ve become obsessed, in love, a big fan of Dexter Morgan. LOVE that show. Period. I’m also a huge fan of Friends. I’ve seen most episodes at least 5 times and am known to bust out into Friends quotes mid conversation… and not always with people who have a clue about to what I’m referring. #oops.
7. Mornings are a happy place and time for me. My to do list gets DOMINATED before the sun decides to join me. I wish I could stay up later, though, because after school is always when the to-do lists gets fresh additions after the craziness of the school day. However, my productivity happens before most people’s alarms have gone off. It makes me happy. I’m weird, I know. But it’s how I function!
8. Randomly . . . I hate to shop (unless school supplies are involved), the phone TERRIFIES me, I think tomatoes are absolutely disgusting, changes and newness make my anxiety level ridiculous, and I think grocery shopping and laundry are enjoyable. #iknow
9. I could deal without: negativity, excess noise, snow, bugs, silly paper work, the 225 miles between Altoona and me, when technology inexplicably fails, messes, and interruptions. 🙂
10. I LOVE coffee, dark chocolate, CHRISTMAS!!, iEVERYTHING, chick flicks, new pens, back to school season and the fresh beginnings that it brings:), ZuMbA!, Hobby Lobby, sweatpants, sunshine!, and our house. <3
There you have it! Hopefully you learned a little something about me, but chances are, I’ve told you some of this before 🙂
Happy Monday!
(even if it is the last Monday of summer. . . booo)
