Happy December friends!! Whew! I’ve been working my butt off today around the house, but I just had to hit pause to come and share a few December-ish things with you!
December is my absolute favorite time of the year. I LOVE the holidays!! My parents have always made Christmas so special for my entire family, filled with traditions and food and gifts, and decorations!!!, and celebrating, so it’s kind of fun to be in my own house starting a few Christmas-fying traditions of my own! This is only our 2nd Christmas in our house, so today, I tested my Christmas-fying memory and got to work with decorating for only the 2nd time!!
With THAT being said . . . let me share what is CURRENTLY happening with me during this Christmas-fying Sunday of mine! I’m linking up with Farley at Oh Boy 4th Grade! to bring you my December Currently!
Listening – to Christmas music on Pandora while I Christmas-fy my house!! Is there any other way to decorate?! I couldn’t watch football and decorate, could I? Unless it’s Saturday and my Nittany Lions are on…
Speaking of class…
Loving – I absolutely LOVE my Penn State Nittany Lions. Yesterday was their final game of the season – one which they were on the road and 24 point underdogs….AND THEY WON! 🙂 I ADORE my alma mater, and with every year that passes, I just become more and more proud to be a Nittany Lion. That’s all I’ll say on the topic. 🙂 Except for to share some pictures . . .
Just ignore that necklace of his. ick.
Thinking – Sooo I realized when I was home for Thanksgiving that I needed to get my butt in gear as far as shopping and decorating went because Ryan and I are in a wedding next weekend, which will make it a bit tricky to Christmas-fy anything until the weekend after…which would just be tooooo close to Santa coming, so after house cleaning and a few school to-dos this morning, I dug out the decorations and got to work.
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
I was even able to get some Christmas shopping done Friday night includingggg buying my class an Elf on the Shelf!! I can hardly wait to have it delivered to them tomorrow!!
Wanting – Soooo my first observation and evaluation – OTES style – is this Thursday. My OTES binder is organized, filled, and ready to go, but my goodness, it’s nerve wracking. Especially with it being our first year under the new evaluation system – the Ohio Teacher Evaluation System(OTES). I’m not a fan of not knowing what to expect. Insert anxiety here. Anyway – – -hopefully things go well. If you’re a fellow Ohio teacher (or if you know one!), and are looking for a way to organize your OTES evidence binder – maybe my binder pack might help you gather your evidence and organize your thinking! Click below to check it out!
I hope it helps you to get started if you haven’t gotten started yet! 🙂
Needing – To map out my plan for my Elf on the Shelf for my class!!!! 🙂 I’ve never done the elf before, so if I don’t plan out or stay on top of what I’m planning on doing with him, I know I’ll forget to move him! My class is SO fantastic this year. They deserve a little fun during the craziness of marking period ending assessments!
So to stay on top of my crazy and fun plans for my elf as well as to stay on top of things in December in general . . .I – the queen of lists and planners – made lists and planners GALOREEEE for December! It’s newly posted in my store!
Click the pictures above to check it out! 🙂 Get organized before the craziness starts!!
Oh – and did I mention, TOMORROW STARTS A HUGE SALE?!?!?!!?
Get your carts filled up now!! 🙂 Mine is over.flowing!! 🙂 Click above to head to TPT now!!
Annnnnd My Favorite Tradition – I LOVE love love love Christmas and EVERYTHING that it’s all about. My family has always had lots of traditions that have gotten better and better through the years and one of my favorites is Christmas Eve. We have a low key, lasagna dinner and gift exchange with my dad’s side of the family which is followed by a Christmas Eve open-house of sorts for additional family and friends. I get to see SO many friends and family members who I rarely get to see throughout the year, since I’m in Ohio and away from *home* which is (and was for 28 years of my 30 year old life) PA. I miss home and all of my family SO so much, but am excited to spend my 2nd Christmas season with the Mr. creating new Christmas traditions of our own.
Whew. Ok friends, I’m off to try to get a bit ahead on the lesson planning since I know I won’t have my typical weekend planning time next week. I hope you all have an enjoyable Sunday!

I found you through the Currently linky. Good luck on your evaluation this week. I'm not an Ohio teacher, but your evaluation system sounds a little like ours. They've totally changed our yearly evaluations and it's added a new level of stress to those observations.

We have several, too! After Thursday, it'll be one down and 2 to go for this year. Fun fun! Good luck with yours the remainder of the year! 🙂
