One Little Word My Truth Monday :)

So I stumbled upon a fun and perfectly timed My Truth Monday linky by Denise at Sunny Days in Second Grade.

 

Is there One Little Word that sums up your goals for the new year? I’ve got one.  To be honest, I’ve been trying to work on it throughout the break as well to get a jump start on my goal.  Here’s my one little word that I’m going to try to stay focused on throughout 2014 . . .
From getting a new reading series this year, to revamping my math lesson structure AND plans, to joining the TPT selling club, to still trying to stay on top of this whole home ownership thing, I feel like  have been going going going a million miles a minute trying to multitask at ALL times, trying to tackle as much of my to-do list as possible at once, and basically just trying to (unsuccessfully) do. it. all.
Please, oh please, tell me I’m not the only one that is a 24/7 member of this juggling act!!
Well, I had one of those “oh.” moments on Christmas morning.  Right before we left our house in Ohio to head home to PA before the sun, I was attempting to make my coffee, pack the car, refill the Keurig, make my hubby’s coffee, do a final wipe of the counters before we left, annnnnd text my mom untillll I noticed thatttt the Keurig was brewing with no mug underneath it.  The splatters of coffee all over the clean counters were CLEARLY whispering shouting “ASHLEY! SLOW DOWN!”.
So – the ONLY way I figure that I can manage to do that is to prioritize.  Period.  I need to make a list of priorities – of “must dos” – and tackle them at a non-crazy speed (I’m not sure I have any other speed than a crazy one, so I’ll need to make it a priority to work on that.) one. at. a time. <– the whole one-at-a-time thing will take some work, too….
  Speaking of priority? I need to make myself a priority on occasion.   Don’t get me wrong.  I LOVE my job and my class.  Making all of that my priority most of the time is more than fine by me.  However, having some time for ME over break was kind of ridiculously fantastic.  I need to find one night a week to make myself a priority so that I’m refueled and ready to tackle that list of priorities that I must manage to make. 🙂

    I agree with your word! Totally one that I need to work on too!! I love the idea of one night a week to be about you! I need to do that too! Hopefully my hubby will be okay with it!

    Thanks for your comment! My hubby is currently studying for his CPA, so he's not around much in the evenings anyway haha so a night of ME should be able to commence soon! 🙂 haha
