Next up – I’ve been BURIED in to-dos this week, and I’ve been wondering if I’m the only one who seems to get NOTHING done at school?!?!?! I TRY to conquer the list . . .and yesterday, for the first time in what seemed like FOREVER, I finally completed an entire page…
…but my goodness, I feel like the only time I’m TRULY productive is at home??!? And I don’t love that I take so much of my time at home – beyond the work day – to tame the to-dos?! Am I alone in this?! Do you manage to plan at school!? I just can’t do it. Between broken copiers, interruptions that totally steal my train of thought that I never easily get back, meetings, tutoring, putting up/taking down bulletin boards, fighting with the laminator, and internet crashes (NOT TO MENTION TEACHING 26 7 year olds!!) . . . I just. can’t. get. it. done! Do you find the uninterrupted time to manage your to dos at school?! I’m jumping for joy at the snow day today because an uninterrupted day on my couch will guaranteeeee to-do list damage control! Please please please tell me I’m not alone on this?!?
Moving on . . . my kids are going to ROCK our next social studies test…well, at least the part on types of environments. Check us out . . .
We arranged ourselves into urban, rural, and suburban parts of an environment. I sent kids to the hall to help explain how far “out there” rural environments are. The kids LOVED it. My suburb kids were even making their hands pointed above their heads like house and my urban kids were making themselves tall like a skyscraper. So fun. We also used a sort and flip flap book from my new Environment Types pack….
Check out my newest pack in my store by clicking the images above!

Wow you might not have school until next Thursday? I'm totally with you on the working at school thing. I actually can get a lot done from 6:20-7:00…stuff that has to be done in school like hanging things up, copies, etc. But, planning, no. I have to do it at home too. Congrats on all your Instagram followers and thanks for linking up!

Enjoyed reading your post! I just found your blog through the snow day linky. I am a fellow second grade teacher blogger–AND I feel what you feel in regards to planning at school. I have been at this a LONG time now, and I ALWAYS get the majority of what I need done outside of the school day. Had to laugh when you mentioned the copier–SO true. Anyway, stay warm! We are expecting some frigid temps early next week here in Illinois and have had the most snow days here than we have had in some time…

Hi Sarah!! Thanks for your comment! I hear ya on the frigid temps!! It's to plummet again this week PLUS snow on top of the cold this time… I sure hope my kids are snuggled up with a good book! Haha ! Thanks for your post and I'm so glad I'm not alone on the planning! After 8 years, you'd thinkkkk I'd be more productive at school but I can't do it!! Stay warm!!:):):)
