Five for Friday – Monday style :)

Ok I know I know, I’m a litttttle bit behind.  Okay, I’m A LOT behind . . . BUT I’m linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching even if it is Monday for Five For Friday! 🙂

 

Soooo this week, I flashed back to high school . . . which SOMEHOW was 12 years ago?!? . . . and brought out my inner band geek again.  Well, I actually brought out THIS:
Yup.  My name is Ashley and I am a clarinet player and a bank geek for life. 🙂
 In reading, we had a ton of stories this week all about music and orchestras and using music to express ourselves, so I just had to bust out the clarinet.  I even still remember how to squeak squeeze out a high C! The kids were impressed.  Or so they said 🙂  I love sharing my interests and passions with them! (and you!)

 

This year, I’ve been LOVING being a new member of the Teachers Pay Teachers selling community. Not only has it brought new, beautiful, talented and SWEET sweet people into my life, but it has WITH OUT A DOUBT made me a better teacher.  I strive to make every plan I write or every pack I create better than the last for my followers, yes, but also for my STUDENTS!! 🙂 🙂 (and maybe a littttle bit for my OTES eval :))

I was on a creating KICK yesterday and got the SWEETEST feedback from my new content binder covers and unit planning sheets AND on my new football telling time packs!  I even figured out how to BUNDLE my newest winter packs, too!  I LOVE hearing from you all so much! I am JUST shy of 2000 followers on Instagram!! I can’t even tell you how much I LOVE networking with so many fantastic teachers via TPT, my blog, and Facebook, but Instagram has to be my favorite way to keep up with all of your happenings in YOUR classrooms! It’s SO fun to get a sneak peek inside everyone’s classrooms and lives, and I’m so thankful that so many of you share just that with me! 🙂  I better get planning a 2000 follower giveaway!! . . .

Just.  Awesome.
Awesome cast.  Awesome plot.  Awesome movie.  AWESOME amounts of awesome.
Hubby and I headed out to a movie date this weekend to see it . . .
The Oscars are just around the corner, and hubby always like to get our movie date on after the nominees are announced.  If American Hustle doesn’t win for best picture, I’ll be very surprised!! I heart Amy Adams…and Jennifer Lawrence . . . and Christian Bale . . . and Bradley Cooper! Have I mentioned the awesome cast?!?!? Go see it  🙂 Stat.

 

And it’s ironic what I saved for #5 . . . anyone else get their gym on at 5am this morning?!
This was at 6 am  – it’s when I’m awake.  It’s when I’m motivated.  It’s when I’m alive!  It’s before I’m drained! I LOVE starting my day with my workout . . .do you?!?
And now . . at 2pm, my to-dos ARE under control! So it’s off to my favorite place to shop – TARGET! Right after the dentist, that is 🙂  Gotta love a teacher’s version of a day off, right?! Work ’til ya drop, early morning workout, Starbucks while creating, Target shenanigans, and all of the doctors’ appointments that you CAN’T fit in before 4pm on a work day.  🙂

    I love that you linked up today! Your post was great, you definitely show how you are trying to keep life balanced. I was a geek in HS, math, science and yes band. Played the flute, but never went to band camp. My kids would be terrified if I attempted to play for them, so kudos to you for being Brave! Have a spectacular week!
