Listening : Go ahead and be jealous. I know that most of you are headed back to school/work today butttt I’m not. I’m still in my sweat pants and loving a few quiet hours of productivity while I listen to the Today Show… and then Live! …. and then Netflix …. and loving every minute!
Loving: I think there are plenty of reasons above that tell you why I’m loving that I don’t go back to work until Monday, but I’ve also told myself to think of it like this: Ya know how after a few (ok a lot of) days off, you always wish you just had ONE MORE DAY!? . . .Well, I’m mentally convincing myself that my wish was granted and that I was granted 2 more days :). I’ll be loving every minute of today and tomorrow!
Thinking: To be honest, I didn’t really ever completely get OUT of school/work mode over break. I’m not sure that it’s in me to stop working altogether. I wanted to create more than I did, but I still managed to post a few new products over the break which I’ve put on sale along with my winter packs for today!
Hopefully you find something that might kick start your plans for the upcoming weeks! Click HERE to head to my store or the image below!
Wanting: I really wanted to head to see Catching Fire over break. I love me some Katniss…and Peeta. However, from the traveling, to the visiting, to the house guests, to the CPA studying husband, it never happened. Maybe I can convince the hubby to take me on an impromptu date this weekend before back to reality and “going to the movies” is far from being able to fit in my schedule again. ha. 🙂
Needing: So I have a few things newly printed, laminated, and bought to take into my classroom… but that would mean I would need to get out of my sweatpants and make myself presentable which hasn’tttt happened all that often in the last couple of weeks. Hmph. I should probably start getting back into a “get yourself ready routine”. Good thing I got that extra day wish granted! 🙂
Tradition: As far as a New Year tradition goes, growing up we did something different each New Year’s Eve, but EVERY New Year’s Day, our bellies were filled with pork, kraut, hot dogs, mashed potatoes and mom’s ridiculously delicious beans. OMG they’re to die for. I don’t even like beans. Hers are ridiculous. SO with that being said, hubby and I had the pork, kraut, dogs, and mashed potatoes yesterday, but I didn’t attempt mom’s beans. For one, I know they wouldn’t come out anywhere close to as delicious as hers, and I’d just be disappointed and probably mad at myself haha. For two, I’m afraid of trying new recipes…. SOOO to go along with my One Little Word for the New Year, I’m going to make it a priority this year to make mom’s beans at some point so next January 1st, I won’t be afraid to complete our New Year’s Day traditional meal with something delicious. 🙂

So jealous of your snowy morning!!! I've seen so many photos/videos from the snowy north on the news this morning. No snow to report in southeast Texas, just cold temps and a strong wind!
Happy New Year!
