I’m linking up with one of my favoritest bloggers, Amanda at Teaching Maddeness!!
The rules are to link up with a must read book!! Easy enough, right?!
My library is FILLLLLED with awesome books at school. Like – Scholastic bonus point hoarder over here, but I STILLL have filled shelves of awesome books for my kiddos to read.
With that being said, I decided to share an awesomely fun book that I use for a “brain break” of sorts It’s SO so fun and your littles will LOVE it. I’ve even used it at dismissal time during a moment of “pleaseeeee put your coat on and sit down” desperation at 3:30 at time or 2. Please tell me I’m not the only one that broken hearts dismissal time!! :/
It’s called “Press Here”!
A dear friend of mine suggested it to me a few years ago to buy for my class and I’m SO glad that I did.
There’s no plot, nor a single character, but this book is a BLAST!
The way I use it is I use my kids’ numbered sticks, and call them one at a time to follow the directions on a page. . . .
For example, one page might say “tap on the yellow dot 5 times”. So I will pull a student’s stick and have them come up to follow the directions! THEY LOVE IT. Here’s a look at another page…
And, you guessed it, when you turn the page, the black sure is gone!
My second graders LOVE it, but I bet kinders and firsties would eat it up even MORE!! Not to mention using it at home with your own little ones!!
My kids just LOVE it. It’s just, like I said, a great excuse for a brain break during the day, plus a GREAT lesson in following directions, because, only those who follow the directions can “play”, of course!
Ok I’m headed over to link up with Amanda and I WILL find some time to start the Divergent series today!! 🙂 Kind of excited about all of the hype! #imafollowerwhenitcomestobooks
Happy snow (or Tues) day!!!!
Performing in Fifth says
We don't have any of those in Arizona… and I could totally use one! I would dread having to make up to the day though. Thanks for sharing the book!
I'm running a link-up right now with the "teacher outfit" theme. Stop by if you get a chance!
