I was SHOCKED to read on IG the other night that I was nominated for another blogging award!! My blog is definitely the area of this journey that I need to work on the most, I think, so this nomination was exactly what I needed to keep me headed in that direction of making it better and better with each post!…
THANK YOU to Mrs. 3rd Grade for nominating little ol’ me!!??
There are four simple rules to the Liebster Award:
1 – link back to the blog that nominated me. Go see Mrs. 3rd Grade’s blog!!!
2 – Nominate 5-11 blogs with less than 200 followers.
3 – Answer the questions posted by the person who nominated me.
4 – Share 11 random facts about me.
Here are my answers to the questions that Mrs. 3rd Grade asked! 🙂 🙂
1) When did you begin teaching, and in what grade?
I began teaching in 2006 and I started as a first grade teacher!!
2) How did you begin teaching at the school where you are currently?
After 2 years of teaching at a charter school in a suburb of Cleveland, I was thrilled to get an interview and then to be offered a job teaching 2nd grade in my current district 🙂
3) What is your favorite subject to teach, and why?
Hmmm… I do love teaching math, because there are so many hands on opportunities to TEACH it!, but I also have found the love to teach Grammar!!! 🙂 I’m a grammar geek, so I feel like it’s my duty to mold my kiddos into grammatically correct individuals.
4) What movie could you watch over and over again?
How to Lose a Guy in 10 days. LOVE 🙂
5) What is your favorite Pandora station, or a CD or artist that you could listen to all day?
NSYNC singalongs are my absolute favorite. 🙂 🙂
6) How do you spend your Friday nights?
Well. If you follow me on instagram, you know that my Fridays almost ALWAYS involve cutting out laminate haha 🙂
This was what last Friday included! Haha – I go to the gym Friday mornings at 5 which means I get home pretty early on Friday nights – hubby doesn’t get home until around 8 soooo laminate it is! 🙂
7) When you were in school, what grade was your favorite and why?
4th grade hands down. I had the most AMAZING teacher – I STILL to this day can remember lessons that she taught us. Mrs. Harris, you will always be my most favorite teacher, and I hope hope hope that I make HALF of the impact on my students that you have made on yours (and on me)<3
8) Would you rather lay on the beach for a weekend getaway, or be in the snowy mountains?
BEACHHHHHH – kindle – shades – silence – HAPPINESS!!!
9) What is your favorite meal to eat or cook, and can you share the recipe?
I’m not much of a cook, although I DO make a mean buffalo chicken dip. It’s my go-to for get togethers for an appetizer. Mom’s recipe that I use is . . . .
2 blocks of cream cheese softened
2 15 oz cans of chicken (drain it!)
1 cup ranch
1 cup red hot (or less if you don’t love hotttt)
Preheat oven to 350
Blend all ingredients together and spread evenly in a metal or glass baking/casserole dish
Bake for 30-40 minutes or until it starts to bubble and brown on top!
Serve with corn chips annnnd get some while you can! It always disappears 🙂 It’s addicting, too! Don’t say I didn’t warn you!!!
10) Do you spend more time on blogs, IG, Pinterest or lesson plans? 😉
Oh my – Can I say all of the above?…. Ok I spend a LOTTTTT of time lesson planning every weekend. It’s a marathon to write my weekly plans on Sundays. But I also spend many of the moments in between connecting or creating in anyyyy way possible – TPT/blogs/joining or having giveaways/IG/FB/emails – I love it all and I LOVE the relationships that I’ve made as well as how much I’ve LEARNED from all of you!! THANK you for being such an inspirational part of my life!
11) Will you be at the conference in Vegas, either TPT, I Teach K, I Teach 1st, Differentiation or Singapore math July 7-11?
YESSSS I’m going to the TPT Supercharge Sellers Conference on July 11!!!!! <3 WOOOHOOOO
