Hey hey, friends! Thanks for stopping by my blog again today! If you missed my November Necessity post yesterday which was all about a simple time and sanity savings idea and checklist to use when lesson planning, you can check that Weekend Warrior post out {HERE}! But come on back over because you won’t want to miss the little trick that I’ve discovered that I’m going to share with you today as part 2 of my Weekend Warriors – November Necessities posts!
Soooo this tip/trick is not only for those of you who love to create things for your own TPT stores, but also for those of you who have ever created anything for your classroom!
Are there any other teachers out there who are just a bittttt OCD particular when it comes to the visual aesthetics of posters/displays in your classroom!

Wellll I noticed in the last year’s time that SOMETIMES when creating a new product, the colors I’m using for a background may LOOK like the same colors that I’ve chosen for the font to match, but when I print it to hang in my classroom, the colors, in fact, don’t match at all! Anyone?! Please tell me it wasn’t just me sliding that color slider back and forth trying to match the orange font to the same orange color that is the shirt of the clip art image you’re using!
Thennnnn, one day I was playing around with the new Keynote software – I use Keynote to create my products which is very very similar to Powerpoint – annnnnnd low and behold I found a trick that will help me to NEVER have to use the color slider ever again!!!
I bring you . . .
Here’s how to do it!!!
I hope hope hope that you can use this trick when creating the most simple things or the most perfect product for your classroom!! Happy color matching perfection to you! 🙂 🙂
Don’t forget to hop to see more November Necessities from my bloggy girlfriends below!! <3

You are always full of awesome tips and creativity, Ashley! Did you also know about a free tool that Rachel @Tattooed Teacher blog shared? It's called Color Cop-one of my most favorite tools, ever since she introduced it! I use it all the time.

Thanks for sharing this! I use powerpoint and it's a little different. Instead of a dropper, it's a magnifying glass. I don't know how I would survive without knowing this trick!!

Rachel I'm also a power point user. I watched Ashley's tutorial. Is using the magnifying class the same basic process as Ashley showed us? I've always created materials for my classroom but this year I'm focusing on making them "prettier" in case I ever decide to start to use TPT. Thanks for your help and Ashley you rock 🙂

Oh Ashley! You have NO idea how many minutes (possibly hours) I've wasted trying to perfectly match font colors to clipart. This is amazing! Thank you!
