Hello there, friends! Are you enjoying the CONSTANT and valuable connections that Periscope has brought your way? Are you just getting started on your Periscope journey and you would like to know more? Before hearing how we are going to be bringing a LIVE CHAT your way via Periscope, I want you to take a few minutes and be sure you’ve got the basics of Periscope DOWN so you can join in on the fun!! Now that you’ve got the basics of Periscope down, would you like to join a room full of PASSIONATE educators for a teacher themed chat and walk away with a notebook full of fabulous ideas??! Well, Angie from Lucky Little Learners and I want to invite you to our PERISCOPE CHAT!!!
What is it?
On the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month at 9pm EST, Ashley and Angie are going to be bringing you a LIVE Periscope chat on their Periscope channels. Ashley will host the first Wednesday of each month and Angie will host the third! For each chat, there will be a pre-determined theme as well as FIVE QUESTIONS for us to all answer and discuss together throughout the hour long live chat! We will announce the five questions each Monday before the chat, and the host will ask the questions throughout the hour to guide the chat discussion.
Be sure to follow BOTH of our accounts so you always hear our whistle!

Each Monday, we will post an image on our social media sites announcing the topic and questions that will look like this :
When is it?
We will hold the chat on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month at 9:00-10:00 EST.
Where is it?
On the 1st Wednesday of the month, the chat will be held on Ashley’s Periscope channel and on the 3rd Wednesday of the month, the chat will be held on Angie’s Periscope channel.
Who is it for?
The Periscope Chat will be for TEACHERS who want to be able to come together with other PASSIONATE educators to discuss given topics, share their ideas, connect with other educators, and GROW TOGETHER! Because as we know, TOGETHER WE ARE BETTER!
What do I need to know?
The beauty of a chat on periscope – much like a chat on Twitter – is that you can simply just join in the scope and LURK! You don’t have to say a thing nor know a thing about the topic or questions ahead of time! Simply log into our broadcast, we will ask the questions to direct and guide discussion and you can chime in as you feel like it OR just sit back and note take as the room “chats” away!!
We want this to be a VERY relaxed yet information filled hour, so you can interact as much or as little as you’d like! We will ask the questions and then will turn to you all for comments, answers, and discussion! We LOVE hearing your expertise and learning from one another!
What will the hour look like?
We will open each hour with introductions of ourselves and each other as well as introducing the night’s topic as well as the rules and directions for the chat!
The questions will then be asked, answered by the host, and discussion is open for YOUR answers!
9:05 Q1 will be asked – you should reply in the comments with “A1: your answer here”
9:15 Q2 will be asked – you should reply in the comments with “A2: your answer here”
9:25 Q3 will be asked – you should reply in the comments with “A3: your answer here”
9:35 Q4 will be asked – you should reply in the comments with “A4: your answer here”
9:45 Q5 will be asked – you should reply in the comments with “A5: your answer here”
9:55 – Wrap up and additional Q&As!
**But guess what!! With the nature of LIVE broadcasting, there may be FABULOUS discussion that inspires us to change up the questions, to lengthen discussion for Q2, etc! We plan to keep the “chat” as authentic and flexible as possible, keeping everyone engaged as we go!
Do I have to stay for the whole hour?
NO!! You can tune in late! You can join in mid chat! You can even join us with Q&As on TWITTER! {more on Twitter below!} We know that LIFE IS SO BUSY! The additional beauty of Periscope is that you can drop in and out to any show as it FITS FOR YOU AND YOUR SCHEDULE!! We would LOVE to have you all stay the entire hour, but having you there for just a small part of our chat would be fabulous, too!
What if the broadcast is full? Can I still comment and participate?
YESS!! Say what?!?!? YES YOU CAN!! How, you ask?!? TWITTER!! During the show, if the broadcast is too full to comment, you can still participate!
You can do this one of two ways:
1. Swipe right (for iPhone users) or swipe up (for Android users)
2. Tap share
3. Share to Twitter
4. Select all of the text, delete all of the text, and add your comment/answer in a tweet!!
5. Add the hashtag #PERISCOPECHAT to your comment, and send it our way!!
OR if you have your computer open during the show, head to Twitter (we recommend using TWEETDECK!), and simply shoot a tweet our way to answer the questions that are being discussed during the show!
What if I miss the broadcast?
No problem!! You can still catch the replay for 24 hours and be able to hear the questions as well as see the comments with everyone’s answers! Grab a notebook and a pen! Our chats are bound to stir up some great discussion with awesome idea sharing, too!! You can ALSO tweet your thoughts, answers, and comments during the replay using the Twitter directions above!! 🙂 We LOVE to hear from you all whether it’s during the live broadcast or during a replay!!!

We will be KICKING OFF OUR FIRST PERISCOPE CHAT on WEDNESDAY AUGUST 5th with the topic of BACK TO SCHOOL!! We hope to see you there!!
